About the customer
The company is a leading manufacturer of premium wallcoverings for residential, commercial, and hospitality spaces.
Its portfolio spans proprietary brands, licensed collections, and custom design solutions distributed across consumer and commercial channels.
Background
The company had an established DAM, but as its content operations evolved, the existing platform no longer fully met the needs of the business or supported how teams needed to manage, find, govern, and distribute assets.
Search relied heavily on folder structures, with limited ways to refine results by attributes such as format, collection, theme, or date. Finding the right asset often depended on familiarity with existing folders and naming conventions.
The metadata model had grown to nearly 100 fields, many of which were no longer relevant to current workflows. Inconsistent naming, duplicate content, and assets managed across different locations added further complexity.
Asset management practices varied across brands and teams, making consistent organization, access, and lifecycle management more difficult.
External files were distributed through email, file-transfer tools, and FTP, often requiring teams to manually download and resize assets. Review and approval processes also took place outside the DAM through tools such as PowerPoint and email.
The legacy DAM was not designed for capabilities increasingly important to modern content operations, including AI-assisted search and tagging, automated metadata, asset lifecycle management, and deeper integration across the technology ecosystem.
"We'd outgrown our old system years before we admitted it. People had built their own workarounds just to get through the day, which told us the platform wasn't serving anyone anymore. When we evaluated Orange Logic, what stood out was that it could actually handle the complexity of six business units without forcing us into one rigid structure. That flexibility, without giving up governance, is what made the decision easy."

Objectives
Modernize the DAM experience
Replace the legacy platform with a more intuitive solution designed to accelerate content operations.
Shift to metadata-driven organization
Move away from folder-dependent workflows toward structured, metadata-driven asset management.
Improve search & findability
Enable faster, more precise discovery through relevant search facets and collections.
Strengthen collaboration & governance
Bring teams into a common environment with clearer processes, permissions, and asset management standards.
Streamline external sharing
Replace manual file handoffs with secure, DAM-native sharing for vendors and partners.
Prepare for migration & integration
Establish a phased migration approach and lay the foundation for future connections with Ecommerce, ERP, PIM, and other enterprise systems.
Our Approach
Assess & Design
Using Avyre’s Aprimo BluePrint Plus methodology, we worked across key stakeholder groups to understand existing workflows, metadata, search requirements, governance, and user needs before configuring the future-state DAM.
Simplify & Govern
We configured Aprimo around the company’s operating requirements, simplifying the existing metadata structure and establishing tailored search facets, collections, download formats, branding, SSO, and a scalable permissions model.
Validate & Enable
The configured environment was validated through internal testing before UAT.
We then delivered tiered training across user levels and established a structured roadmap for the phased migration, prioritizing content aligned with upcoming digital commerce initiatives.
What Set This Project Apart
Metadata Built Around How Teams Work
The existing DAM had accumulated nearly 100 metadata fields, creating unnecessary complexity for users with very different responsibilities.
Rather than carrying the legacy structure into the new platform, Avyre redesigned the model around business requirements and user roles, creating a focused framework where teams interact with the metadata relevant to how they manage and use content.
Results
With Aprimo as its new enterprise DAM, the company now has a more intuitive and scalable foundation for managing, finding, governing, and sharing digital assets.
- More relevant metadata, tailored to different user groups and workflows, with cascading logic supporting a more intuitive experience
- Faster, more precise asset discovery using personalized search facets and collections
- Clearer governance and access, supported by a streamlined, status-driven permissions model
- Secure external asset sharing with time-limited links that don't require platform access
- Greater team self-sufficiency following role-specific training rated “Exceptional” in the company’s internal satisfaction review
- A structured path to migration, prioritizing content aligned with upcoming digital commerce initiatives
"The Avyre team was outstanding throughout the entire implementation phase. Their expertise and deep understanding of DAM ensured a smooth deployment. They were consistently professional, highly responsive, and proactive in addressing challenges, making the transition to our first DAM both efficient and effective."
